There is a very good sticky thread here which you could read to get you started. If you choose this method, be aware that you are going to be using a lot of ink and a lot of paper.īut if you want a system that you know matches mine, or Freds in Norway, or Lucy's in Mongoia, or just the local printshop, then you need to investigate colour management. Start with a downloaded test print and use that as your reference sample. If all you want to do is set up your own local monitor to print accuracy, then tweaking the colour settings in the printer driver may work for you. Its perfectly possible that the print is accurate and its the monitor at fault. I have never used Qimage, but if it is anything like Photoshop, then things usually work better with the software managing the colour, not the printer.Īnd don't overlook the monitor. Using the wrong profile, or no profile, can make an enormous difference because papers differ wildly. ![]() The first thing to do I suppose is to make sure you used the correct paper profile when printing. ![]() Ive done a crude example of the problem by printing the picture on an a4 then scanning it in.ĭoing a comparison on the background between that and the original in ps the numbers come out like thisĭoes anyone know what I need to try next to get the prints to not be so overally red?Īttached is the original and the scanned versions. ![]() Ive used two different types of photo paper but every print is way way too red (possibly magenta rather than red) Since then Ive bought Qimage and tried every Canon printer profile, I also told qimage to use the printer driver and used all the different settings in the printer preferences. ![]() I got a pixma mp560 recently (I know there not a top quality photo printer but I was expecting the photo printing to be at least as good as my ancient i865 it replaced) but im having terrible problems getting the colour right in the print.įirst thing I did was buy a spyder 3 pro and calibrate my monitor to elimate any monitor side problems.
